The Shield of the Eirenosians

Formed at Eirenos’ inception some thousand years ago, the bureaucratic body of the capital of peaceful draconics serves one purpose alone: to serve the city.

Naturally, should you ask most Eirenosians, they will say that the draconics who spend all day sequestered in the towering Heart of Order are nothing but dull bureaucrats devoted only to carving claws into slates for the pure joy of it.

Still, the citizens acknowledge the importance of the Drathyre’s activities: encouraging cultural and urban growth, managing trade and the distribution of wealth, researching and administering medical care, creating and enforcing laws, and maintaining good relations with non-Eirenosian dragons.

There’s probably more, too, but most just trust that the Drathyre has it covered.

All of this, while rather dry to all but the most ardent of forum-goers, is integral to the peace of not only the city but all its sister settlements as well. To all of Drakien, really.

The much-beloved Bennie being at the head of the Drathyre certainly helps their image. As is the too-rarely seen but ever-popular Trials of Strength and Wisdom. And, of course, the fact that the Drathyre not only allows but encourages regular forums for the citizens to voice their opinions.

Thus, while the Eirenosians speak about their “boring bureaucrats,” it’s in good fun. The Drathyre’s popularity is evident in the endless pamphlets and conversations about them, and the draconics’ trust in them is absolute—even if they don’t always agree with them.

That said, nothing will stop the Eirenosians from teasing them about their silly hats.

Nev’eirys’  Character Page

Nev’eirys, son of Neth’eirys, has sparked the imagination of his fellow citizens of Eirenos for decades. He looks like a mythical faenriin, but he refuses to use the creation and destruction magic they all have.

A faenriin without a familiar isn’t much of a faenriin at all, are they? Sure, they’re better off than the Unblessed, but that’s like saying it’s better to be alive than a ghost.
