In the corner of Cies’ room, nestled beside her vanity table and draped in as many flowers and photos as it, is a little book nook.
At certain hours, the sun breaks through the gauzy white curtains from the Garden of the Moon, illuminating a veritable wall of books and a cozy bergère chair pulled up next to them.
Never, however, does it find a particular book.
Hidden behind the big book of fairy tales and the empty one that conceals Cies’ favorite photos is another hollowed out book, this one too risky to be even haphazardly stumbled upon.
This one contains Cies’ Secret Library, a collection of reference materials and drawings that she and her closest have put together over the years.
