Celedis is a series of fantasy romance novels set in the human kingdoms of Ouranien. The courts and their rulers dominate the continents, and magic is classified and refined—or, at least, it’s believed to be.
The first book, The Roses Two, follows Lady Cies as she creates magical worlds from other’s eyes, trades fairy tales for memories, and delves deep into her soul to discover the truth of her magic, her birth, and her heart.
“To become lost in memories is to forsake your future.”

Lady Cies’ magic is a wondrous thing that opens worlds in others’ eyes, lets her relive memories, and defies the gods. All magic derives from the gods, and there’s no god who does what Cies can. So, she hides herself away, protected by her beloved cousin Princess Ibisina and Ibisina’s betrothed, Crown Prince Léodaen, who Cies adores far more than she should.
The arrival of a new guest threatens everything. The Thorn of Taura, Marveis Fleuris, is a war “hero” who tore apart his enemies with his nature magic—and a mage who can sense Cies’ magic. But Marveis is more a blushing camellia than a monster, and his gentle nature piques Cies’ curiosity and stirs her heart.
Meanwhile, Crown Prince Léodaen’s visit looms. Yet Cies’ feelings for her golden prince are the least of her worries when a strange woman appears trading fairy tales for memories. Memories that could explain not merely her magic but her place in the world.
Yet the Palace of the Moon keeps no secrets from its queen, and unbeknownst to Cies, Her Majesty is watching her. Every clue Cies unearths about a world of mages a little too similar to the gods. Every step she takes towards the truth of her magic and her blasphemous birth. Each discovery draws Cies and her beloveds deeper into the Queen’s game. Cies’ greatest dream will be the prize—but the price will shatter all her others.
Hi, I’m Lily!
I wrote my first “novels” in the fifth grade in wide-ruled notebooks—the whole notebook, front and back, I was quite proud to say. Over the years I continued to imagine worlds, whether it was writing stories about my Neopets, daydreaming about my current anime or video game obsession, or working on my first real novel, a young adult book destined only for a folder tucked deep in my computer.
Yet it’s been the Celedis series that’s stuck with me since nearly the beginning. I started working on it over 20 years ago, sitting at my stepdad’s old iMac and writing up color-coded character sheets that aren’t too dissimilar from the ones on the site today. Almost everything has changed since then—the plot, the characters, and me—but never how near or dear it is to my heart or how much I’ve needed to get it from my mind to the page.
Outside of writing, I enjoy losing myself in video game worlds, music, parks, and definitely reasonable amounts of coffee. I’m originally from California, but I moved to France to live with my partner after the passing of my mother. It’s to her, my first and staunchest supporter, and to my partner Pierre, who pushes me to continue even on my roughest days, that the books are dedicated.
