Surely you are familiar with the jungles of Drakien, and perhaps even its gilded savanna.
But have you ever seen the northeastern desert, glowing pink in the dawn, or the northwestern mires, so dark that flames become mere pinpricks in the eternal night?
Or perhaps, even, the mana-painted peaks of Faenrien, straight from a faenriin tale?
While I cannot hope to discuss every location in our world, I have done my best to give you a few choice bites in the hope that it will whet your appetite for something grander!*
So, I invite you to come along with me now, letting your imagination take you to places as close as the nearest mountaintop—or as far as across the mana sea.
*Editor’s Note: Please do not make any exploration attempts without proper preparation.**
**Editor’s Note’s Note: In fact, perhaps it’s best just to stay at home. Nothing is wrong with a good book, scroll, or slab!
Drakien is home to five mortal species. While these species have vastly varying lifespans and cultures, the influence and legacy of each on our continent is undeniable, shaping the landscape and plant and animal life alike.
Today, we shall focus on the draconics, the combined group of dragons and drakaryn.
Dragons dominate the central area of Drakien. Those living under Eirenos’ jurisdiction reside in the largest area, centralized around the very middle of the continent and spreading north, south, and west, where there are lush jungles and vast cave and mountain systems. Non-Eirenosian dragons—traditionalist dragons—reside in the savannas of the west.
Drakaryn most commonly live alongside Eirenosian dragons, with more than half of the population of the capital being drakaryn. They have also settled in several smaller, allied towns nearby.
The capital of the peace-seeking draconics was founded a thousand-some years ago by dragons who grew weary of the games of strength their brethren played. In these early days, it was a mere collection of simple shops and house-caves inside a single large mountain.
From there, Eirenos expanded into the surrounding mountains, valleys, and floating islands until it became the sprawling capital that is home to thousands. It now houses not simply house-caves but taverns, shops of all varieties, ateliers, amphitheaters, and gardens.
Crowning the central mountain is the Terrace of Order, a sprawling garden for relaxation and culture. The Heart of Order rests at its center, a tower where the Drathyre and other officials serve Eirenos, maintaining its peace for all of dragonkind—and all of dragonkind’s friends.
Originally a district of Eirenos, Faenriyes is nestled in a valley to its sister city’s east. Crafted by draconic claws and faenriin hands in tandem, it is a sanctuary where all are welcome.
Faenrien is the continent of the faenriin, the only known immortal species and the only sentient species of their continent—though considering the intelligence of many familiars, animals that have bonded with faenriin, this lattermost statement is debatable!
The continent is highly influenced by the large amounts of mana present in the atmosphere. While it’s unknown precisely why the continent’s atmosphere is so high in mana, it has undoubtedly affected every aspect, from the colorful, mana-soaked landscapes to the very magic of the faenriin, from creation and destruction magic to the faenriin-familiar bond.
The crystalline capital is the largest settlement on the continent of Faenrien. Situated on the western coast, it is home to nearly all faenriin, including their queen, Queen Amariael, and their king, King Caexiael, who reside in a magnificent palace.
The capital is pristine, maintained daily through the creation magic of the faenriin, who believe their perfection must radiate in their home as much as their beings.
A small settlement that marks the eastern-most point of Faenrien. It is situated at the edge of the faenriin wards that push back the encroachment of miasma. It is home only to a small contingency of workers: mostly researchers and engineers.
The ocean in between Drakien and Faenrien. While it is theorized that other continents exist, no proof has yet been found, so this ocean may be considered to cover the entire world.
It is covered in extremely high concentrations of miasma, making travel across it impossible without suffering a prompt death. Faenriin are the only known species to have successfully traversed it, thanks to their wards and high-speed ships.

A faenriin without a familiar isn’t much of a faenriin at all, are they? Sure, they’re better off than the Unblessed, but that’s like saying it’s better to be alive than a ghost.
